Welcome to Mimi Chen Yoga!

I first came to yoga to learn and explore a new way of living. Unhappy with the lifestyle I had adopted over the years where my health was not a priority -– I wanted to learn the tools that would improve the quality of my life through mindful practices and healthier eating.

This journey led me to teach yoga and meditation.

I have been teaching for over a decade and was based out of the Jivamukti Yoga Center n NYC. As an advanced certified teacher, I was a mentor to local and visiting international teachers – leading many through the 800 hour apprenticeship program.

Moving from teaching in the classroom to teaching and blogging online, I channel the inspiration from teachers in my past, wisdom from ancient and modern yoga philosophy sources such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and inspirational real life stories. 

Yoga and meditation has been an integral part of my life and helped me get through divorce, rebuilding my life as a single mom, and finding love again. By integrating self care on a daily basis, we can lead more fulfilling lives.

In this blog, I hope to provide you with tools and resources that will help you along that path.
